omg... I usually love a good vampire show... even a bad vampire show... but true blood. oh my. I watched the first three episodes... I really really wanted to like this show. but it was killing me. oh the acting... the dialogue... the stupid story line... the miserable accents... the horrible southern stereotypes. and anna paquin... what has happened to her?!
sorry john... do you like this show? I'll stop ranting. maybe it got better after the third episode...
I have to agree with you, LoraMa. As a southerner I'm especially put off by the bad accents and stereotypes. My daughter loves it, but watching it with her is embarasssing due to the sex scenes being so stark and graphic. However, she has already noted the difference in the sex scenes with the brother--under the influence--and other sex scenes, as a director's statement contributing to characterization. (She's a smart kid.) And we both liked Anna Paquin better in X-Men. Plus I'm sad the granny is gone. I like that actress, though the accent or the dialog or something was really impacting the acting...sigh. I may keep watching (I wouldn't want my daughter watching it alone) but it's just plain bad.
I've been intrigued by the series. It is a bit over the top but I can't stop watching it. Maybe cause I'm bored with the crap on TV till Battlestar Galactica returns or I'm really liking the series. Its only been a few episodes so we'll see how the rest go.
Rats, HBO, don't have that on my dish, got too many bills now.
Now if I could just find that novel about vampires in south Louisiana. Dang, what was the name and arthor of that, it's around this hobbit hole somewhere.
well..i love the show. i've read the books, and they were silly..but, campy silly. of course, i prefer the sexy anita blake's, but i'll watch this. as a southerner, yeah, bill just doesn't pull it off (and, i prefer eric..sigh*). i love the old house sookie lives in, reminds me of my nannie's house. i just love the flavor(so to speak) of the not-to-be-taken-seriously-at-all show. it's fun and i dig the opening song "bad things w/you." i look forward to it..especially since the powers that be took my swingtown off grrrr
Campy, that is the word I was looking for yesterday. lol, thumbs up for that.
O'yea, love the fuzzy boots, Uggs I guess?
victoria secret, yeah, baby!
