I think it's a shame that when a man or woman, married, single what have ya...expresses a heartfelt compliment to the opposite gender, someone has to try and read their own perspective or misguided thought into the compliment..I have to agree with Bob on his statements..I dont see the "buttering up" that you feel to be his objective here...accept and be accepting of a compliment when it is offered...I have become friends with a select few on this site, men and women...I have on occasion also complimented them for their support, wisdom, humor, beauty etc. If and when I do express a compliment, I truly hope no one on the receiving end feels threatened or thinks I am "buttering" them up...I have only 1 reason for dolling out a compliment, The person or persons I award the compliment is deserving of recognition for something they have done unto me, be it a smile, tear or a simple pat on the back....lighten up people..not all of us men are out to get into your drawers.

Speaking of lighten up...
I was just kidding when I asked Bob what he wanted. I've said in other threads, and I'll say it again... I LIKE BOB. I think he's a gentleman with a great heart, a strong sense of self (in other words, he doesn't seem to get his knickers in a wad when someone messes with him). That's why I felt comfortable kidding with him about butterin' us ladies up.
'Sides, he's Texan... that's gotta count for sumthin!
~hugs Bob~
