I also love Tampa/St. Pete... I go fishing @ Ft. DeSoto as often as I can. What part of Northern VA are you from?

I used to Live in Stafford Co., Alexandria and Arlington. I worked in D.C. for several years for the World Bank. I miss the season changes but not the traffic.

Hi, I am from Alexandria. I don't really miss it at all. Maybe fall, but it never lasts long anyway. I prefer 70 degrees in December anyway! I do not miss the high rents. It is my home and I love it, but a change was needed. The traffic in Tampa is horrid, almost like DC and I do not drive! I still have to deal with it. I am thinking of moving to Sarasota at some point or st. Pete. Tampa is kind of a mess to me,but it is ok.

St. Pete is nice.... I'm not sure how the traffic is in St. Pete around 5pm Mon-Fri but the times that I have been down along Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach it's not bad. Do you like to go fishing?

Actually, I remember as a ten to twelve year old loving fishing in the potomac river. I also remember eating the fresh fish my father made from it. I love fishin! I don't remember how to though!

I used to love fishing in the Potomac as well. When I lived @ Quantico, VA. the record Catfish caught on freshwater rod-reel was something like 80 pounds. That is one big cat.

You would love saltwater fishing. About 90% of the time I go fishing I catch something. And when you catch the Spanish mackerel they are the best on the grill. And the Ladyfish are the most fun to catch, when you hook them they hit hard & come up out of the water fighting. I catch and release them. Not very good to eat.

I have an 18 foot Bayliner that I like to take out of Ft. DeSoto launch and go fishing when ever I can.
