Profiles - does anyone pay attention? What do you find attractive?

I've been on and off several dating sites, and I'm interested in profiles. Do you typically read and consider profiles? What makes a good one? What do you look for?

For example, I'd be interested in feedback on MY profile, although the more complete one is on my MySpace page (www.myspace.com/duesterj). Is there anything interesting? Any ideas for improvement?

As for me, when I look at profiles, I'm looking for some sign of wanting a multi-level connection (emotional, intellectual, physical....), intelligent, and something quirky or off-the-wall, or somehow different.

I'm interested in your feedback.

I do! I also read the answers to the many questions asked, I get a "Feel" for the person.

I do read profiles, when someone catches my interest, somehow. But I don't sit and search profiles... I'm not here for that.

One thing I keep very much in mind though, is that anyone can put anything on their profile. It's how they relate and how they live their life that is the truly telling factor.

I did online dating with great success when I got divorced at 48. I even edited my current BF's dating profile before we started dating :).

I think your TBD profile is very good. Perhaps try to show some humor in answering the quickee questions, that can be more engaging. Since you mention your kids, and chose "single" instead of divorced/widowed/separated, it gives the impression you've never married -- which can be a barrier to some people.
