What's with the sirens??

Ok, is my town just "special" ? Our sirens went off twice today, WTF? Did I miss something? It's not the first Wed. of the month, no bad weather (just yuck), we're not under attack (yikes, are we?).

They tend to do this randomly and their answer is always "because".

Anyone elses sirens go off today?

I'm in St Paul just east of the Mpls city line on University (work location) and haven't heard a peep from the sirens here...

I am in southern minnesota...and the police chief/emergency management director. Perhaps they are just working on them today as there is no real reason for them to be going off.
