I love this. from the mid-life gal's shenanigan's group:

THE SENILITY PRAYER
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Oh I can SO relate to this now! I used to drive a Dodge Caravan. Last year I got a BMW Z3. Not only am I still used to looking for that huge van in the parking lot, I can never see the Z3 it's so small! And if I forget where I parked, I'm wandering around the lot like an idiot!! It's worse when my daughter is with me, tho, because she just follows me around the lot, chatting away about whatever, completely oblivious to the fact that I can't find the freaking car!!!

I try to find a tree or something to park beside. I hate wandering around in a parking lot. It's hard to look like you've just decided it was time for a stroll. What gets me is when I get the rare spot close to the front and forget and then I walk right past my car and sojourn to the back of the lot looking for it.

Once I was in a restaurant enjoying myself with friends. It was getting later in the evening and I had everyone in the restaurant and the staff looking for a jacket I never wore to the restaurant. Geesh- I forgot I decided not to wear it after all.

Well, I've already admitted to one forgetful story here, I might as well tell this one too: I sent a friend of ours (Bill) a birthday card. Bill's wife called me and said "Who's Mike" and I said "I don't know, who's Mike?" and she said "You sent Bill a Happy Birthday card and you wrote Happy Birthday Mike" in it! So now of course we call Bill "Mike" whenever we see him!

he he HE! my memory is coming back. and this was about 15 years ago, as i remember my daughter was about 9 or 10 and she was crying.

have ya ever gone to a mall security person to tell them that you can't find your car and you're sure it was stolen?

Oh wait - I thought of an even better one!!!

I was at a Pampered Chef demonstration at a friend's house. When it was time to leave, I looked through all the piles of coats she had on the chairs in her dining room. I couldn't find my black leather coat, although there were 2 other black leather coats there... I kept insisting that neither one of them were my coat!!! One was too big and the other was too small...

until I saw my red gloves sticking out of the pocket of one of them...

And I realized that I had in fact taken the wrong coat from a party I was at the previous weekend...because when I put it on to go to this demonstration, I remember thinking wow, I am losing weight, this coat is getting loose on me!!!

I have not lived this one down with my friends either.
