I am SORT OF on the same page as your wife, but for more than that reason. 1. Yes, I think it is extremely UNFAIR to all of the OTHER children to be FORCED to take care of THE PARENT'S CHILDREN. I realize that in the "old days" this was commonplace. But guess what? We don't live in the old days.

2. So many have said it's fine as long as they are taking care of them themselves, meaning financially. *COUGH! COUGH!* Yeah, RIGHT! How many families do you think have their own television show? Do you think this is considered "normal"? Do you think these kids are learning how to have a "normal" life? These kids already have a tainted view, in my opinion, of what the real world is going to be like in the not so far future. When asked, the boys pretty much say they want to grow up and be politicians like their father. Ok, fine. What I want to know is how the Duggars are going to teach their children to be financially self sufficient. They now have this magnificent home which was not only paid for because of their television series, but if I remember correctly at one point they accepted donation. Do not quote me on that though, I could be wrong.

But one thing I must admit, I'm glad the woman finally got her hair cut and moved closer to the 21st century in that regard. I just wish now she'd quit making the young ladies in her family look like they're all five-year-old runaways from Walnut Grove's Ingall's family. GAG!

I was thinking better them, than me giving birth to that many. I do really appreciate their principal on how they are debt free. The oldest son just got married.

No one is talkin about children being parents or babysitters.. I am a responsible parent, and so are the Duggers! This thread is talkin about Limiting a person to having that many kids, and what we think. I am glad I live in the USA and not China where you can only have 1 child!! I don't appricate you calling me crazy when you don't even know me!!

My children are FREE to live their lives!! My oldest is a senior in college for physical therphy, My daughter is studing abroad in Aust and will be a dentist and the 3 son wants to be an engineer.. I can say large families make ya competive! After reading my first post I relized I leftoun alot of commas,,,:) I taught my kids to cook and clean TO BE ABLE to be INDEPENDANT when they are on their own!! I will shut up now I know so many do not UNDERSTAND.. you for sure don't grow up selfish..YOU ALL SHARE.. so many don't comprehend it cuz they haven't live it!!
