Is it possible that the majority of the thoughts you have today are a product of the location and time of your birth?
For example: Burning your grandmother by the Danube might get your arrested! Not so in Varnasai, India. Having the latest model ‘Roo Bar’ is just not a concern for teenagers in New York City who like pickup trucks.
In the era of the “yuppy,” you would not have considered how a law against “texting while driving” might affect your lifestyle; The Knights of the Round Table were not concerned if their website had both audio and video content.
The thoughts of a two-hour delay on a flight from London to Sydney can be bothersome for some passengers, yet one hundred years ago the concern was whether one would ever return. In Boston today, thinking that your neighbor is a witch is not so much of problem for her.
To a contemporary size zero model, the thoughts of being a “Rubenesque” from 18th century Europe would be quite different to what a classic Rubenesque would have to thought about the participants of a contemporary fashion shows.
What then of the personal significance of your thoughts of today?
