That sounds about right. A few years ago I got dragged behind an escalator at Union Station and beat up by some guys looking to be jerks (insult to injury: they didn't even take the iPod I had in my hand, just punched me for a while, laughed and ran.) The Metro Police officer who eventually showed up was a total prick, who informed me that I didn't look like I'd been dragged and seemed to think I was blowing it out of proportion. The station managers didn't seem a lot more interested. I wish I'd reported him to a supervisor and raised hell to Metro, but at the time I just wanted to put the whole horrible thing behind me. Good for Hiatt for pursuing this.
