There are people out there that would take it very hard if a woman they care for died or suffered unduly, from complications of a pregnancy that could have been avoided. That could lead to serious repercussions for anyone associated with that woman's medical treatment, or lack of. It could even cause the people that backed the law to be at serious risk, so you should consider that when you go down that road.
Wait, you didn't know that it didn't matter how the mother, the vessel that is carrying that parasite, feels? If she dies, that's ok. There are many other women out there capable of having children, so one woman gone isn't a big deal... right?
