The best non-typical breakfast foods...

I grew up with an immigrant Japanese mother. My breakfasts often included miso soup, sometimes with an egg; rice; and some odds and ends from the previous night's dinner. Not until I left home as an 18-year old did I have typical American breakfasts. You know, eggs and toast, cold or hot cereal, pancakes, and such. I think my upbringing led me to eat other foods not typically associated with breakfast. Besides cold pizza (which I LOVE), some other favorites for breakfast are: leftover soup or stew, and rice-based dishes.

What's your non-breakfast breakfast include?

I like grilled ham/swiss sandwiches, and a banana-and-peanut-butter sandwich on raisin bread.

As kids, my brother & I would have ice cream for breakfast. We lived over my parent's grocery store & while they were working we made our own breakfast. Shhhh! don't tell!

I used to eat Ritz crackers with cream cheese & strawberry jelly for breakfast with a big glass of milk.

Yes! We ate cream cheese on a ritz. Or grape jelly on saltines.

Yesterday it was a big fat brownie. That was right before I hit the treadmill. I love being all growed up, eating anything I want or don't want.

Had I had rice or miso soup in the fridge that would have been an equally appealing choice.

My father's favorite - and it makes me shudder to even type this, so brace yourself - braunschweiger sausage on white bread with French's yellow mustard, washed down with Dr. Pepper.

I just brought tears to my own eyes.
