REUNIONS

I've never gone to any of my reunions.

The jocks have big pot bellies, the prom queen looks like she's been ridden hard and put away wet, the ugly ducklng turned into a beautiful swan, the brainiac got burned out on drugs in college, the shy guy now owns a couple of funeral homes, the cheerleaders can barely bend down--let alone do the splits, where did all of these old gray haired people come from anyway???

i went to three of mine. kinda fun.

first one was to find out where everyone lived and what they did for a living. the second one was to see babies and significant others. the third one was to see who still had their "mojo" going on.

segue- i am living in a place i have not lived in a veryyyyyy long time. i was strolling downtown past the local book store and did a double take.

a "famous" author was coming to town for a book signing. i looked at the name. it was a guy who lived down the street from me growing up.

then i looked at the picture--- wow when did he lose all his hair??????

I resemble several of those.

I went to the 10th, skipped the 20th, don't know what possessed me to go to the 30th but I sent in my check. I hated high school.

None of my friends were going. Someone I didn't know in HS who I see all the time wasn't going. I went by myself.

Had a wonderful time.

Most people were unrecognizable. Some looked very old, some looked fabulous and a few, very few looked almost the same.

Bull, my hubby would say "I resemble that remark."

Actually he was one of the few guys who still had hair at our 30th class reunion, and his hair still had color. It is interesting to see how people change over the years. Some bear absolutely no resemblance to their senior picture (and in some cases that's a good thing!!)
