Yes this is true. In the 1970's I was vacationing in Canada and the US dollar was more than the Canadain dollar. All the merchants were very happy to take the US dollar. Today, do the Candian merchants want the US dollar?

No kidding! My employer is American and, in the past, every time a cheque arrived in my mailbox, it was a thrilling moment for me. Today I posted an expense reimbursement cheque for US$ 315.00 . Do you know how much I got? Cdn$ 308.00! :-o

We just took a cruise from Seattle to Vancouver BC, then spent a long weekend in Vancouver. I think we were told this no less than six times during our stay. "Hey, and your dollar is..."

Good reason to pull our troops out of Iraq and invade Canada! I believe they are hiding weapons of mass annoyance there.

The Russian ruble was 31 to 1 USD in 2002. Today it is 24 rubles to 1 USD. If you are an astute person and look at world events, it is not hard to see "why" the USD is devaluating.
