Posted: Jun 6, 08 6:39am![]() Seventy-one percent of conservatives say you have an obligation to care for a seriously injured spouse or parent, versus 46 percent of liberals. Liberals are 2 1/2 times more likely to be resentful of others’ success and 50 percent more likely to be jealous of other people’s good luck.
Fifty-five percent of conservatives get satisfaction from putting someone else’s happiness ahead of their own, nearly three times the number of liberals: just 20 percent.
Young conservatives are more likely to volunteer for a charity, any kind of charity, than young liberals — although young liberals are more likely to say they have attended a protest rally. Fifty-nine percent of those who describe themselves as “very liberal” think it’s wrong to cheat on your spouse, compared to 86 percent of those who self-identify as “very conservative.” Liberals are 2 times more likely to say it is okay to cheat the government out of welfare money you don’t deserve. Conservatives are more likely than liberals to hug their children and “significantly more likely” to display positive nurturing emotions. Liberals are less trusting of family members and much less likely to stay in touch with their parents. ![]() So,according to this,Bush & Cheney are liberals?Hmmmm Posted: Jun 6, 08 7:06amI know people who are "liberal" and I know people who are "conservative" and none of those people I know fit into these neatly pigeon-holed descriptions. Posted: Jun 6, 08 7:23amRox, They're not neat pigeon holes. Someone can fit some of the traits and not others. However, the more liberal one is, the more traits they are likely to fit. And the same for conservatives. The conclusions were arrived at after research into, among other things: tax documents, scholarly data, primary opinion and research surveys. If someone can offer evidence to refute the claims, I'd like to see it. (Not directed to you , Rox:) Evidence, not stupid comments. Posted: Jun 6, 08 7:28am![]() Rox, They're not neat pigeon holes.
