Posted: Jun 9, 08 6:06pm The older I get, the more I learn to love that word "benign!" Biopsy, gross but necessary. The waiting for results -- gross and long but necessary. The praying and pleading to live well. The thoughts that go through one's mind! Longevity vs. Sudden Realization. Today I'm benign! RE-f--'n JOICE! I'm thankful! Anybody else benign today? The doctor said "there's a mass in the lung we HAVE to look at." The day before the scan was to be done, a specialist drained three pounds of fluid from my lungs.Next day, I was in the camera when the doctor said, "It's gone...there's no mass here." It seems that when they drained the lung, the spongy tissue flattened out and the ominous mass dissappeared. I will never forget seeing the doctor running toward me as I sat in a wheelchair in the hallway grinning from ear to ear. Congratulations and hallelujah on benign!
