How comfortable do you feel about your retirement?

okay, so far

we are not rich, but we manage to do the things we enjoy

and we know how to be more frugal, if need be

I've been retired a while now.

The other night I had to dig up the instruction sheet to my bedside clock radio. I forgot how to set the alarm!

My hubby retired first so the alarm got delegated to my side of the bed--where it remains!!

It's the greatest thing to wake up in the morning and just lay there and think "well, what should I do today?" Then to have time to say your prayers and read spiritual things to sustain you for the day ahead. Then read a book, which is ongoing, have a cup of tea and breakfast in bed and then gradually get going with a casual shower and then...continue a slow pace all day.

I have been retired for about a year. I also forgot how to set the alarm. I do what I want when I want. Caleb and I travel, mostly to see sites. We have been as far a Phoenix and as close as Memphis and Gatlinburg. We may go to Natchez and Vicksburg next week. This is my reward for working the same job for 38 years. Wouldn't go back for anything.

You mean since I buried it in the back yard?

Dear Gisli,

Do you realize how cruel is what you posted here. Do you realize that someone like me may read it.

Monday when the alarm comes on and I hit the snooze button I will be thinking about you and wishing you had to get up at 6 am to go to work... grrrrrr.

I can't wait to grow old and retire.....:-)
