I will miss George most of all. Much of my wise cracking is ripped right off of his records, HBO shows and his three books.
What a contribution he has made.

Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:19amGeorge Carlin could make me laugh until I cried...I was so saddened to hear the news that he had passed away. His comedic genius and trail-blazing humor will definitely be missed! Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:34amoh man, what sad news to start the day. He was a brilliant man whose comedy not only made one laugh . . . it made one think. He will be missed. Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:36amAmen Nick, Joe, and Robin. I saw him live one time in the 80's. From the moment he stepped on stage, he had me in tears with laughter. I always enjoyed his HBO specials and his books. If you ever listened to the interviews he gave, he was a real student of his craft in understanding why things were funny. Modern-day comedy has lost its king. Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:56amI will miss him, too. He could be very irreverent, he could be very touching. I enjoyed his quirky observations. Peace, George. Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:58amHow sad! He was good man.. Posted: Jun 23, 08 5:59amSome Georgeisms: "Your stuff is stuff. Other people's stuff is junk. If cockpit voice recorders are so indestructible, why don't they just build the airplane out of that stuff? When you reach a certain age there comes a time when everyone you know is sick. "It's neither here nor there." Well, folks, it's gotta be somewhere. I certainly don't have it. Life is a near death experience. Words we need: pocketry--a garment's pockets yesternight--"I couldn't get to sleep yesternight." firmth--firmness Why don't they have dessert at breakfast?" How sad that he is gone...and how much fun he would have had reviling those who mourn his passing. |
