Admit it.

You remember every word to the "Beverly Hillbillies" theme song.

You can pull the tune to "The Munsters" up out of your head a moment's notice.

It went like this remember:

Da da-da-da-da-da da-da-dah....

You're singing it, aren't you?

"If not for the courage of the fearless crew", what would happen to the 'Minnow'?

I'll bet you even know the words to the "Bonanza" theme, even though they never sang it on the show.

The hardest ones to remember are the ones without words like "Ironsides"...on the other hand no one will ever forget the tune that opened "Get Smart"

Some had more than one theme song, remember "The Avengers?"

They aren't writing many of these songs anymore. It's sad to see that theme songs are disappearing. from our airwaves. presumably to make time for more advertising...it can't be because they're putting more program content into their 30-60 minute time slots. Some still open with a song, but it's often a classic oldie or *wince* a cover tune of a classic oldie.

Today I've got the theme from McHale's Navy stuck in my head...and as soon as you remember what it is,..so will you.

Here's one a lot of people probably don't know.....The Dick Van Dyke Show theme actually had words, apparently written by Morey Amsterdam! Here they are:

So you think that you've got trouble.

Well trouble's a bubble.

So tell old mister trouble to get lost.

Why not hold your head up high and

Stop cryin', start tryin'.

And don't forget to keep your fingers crossed.

When you find the joy of living

Is loving and giving,

You'll be there when the winning dice are tossed.

A smile is just a frown that's turned upside-down.

So smile and that frown'll get lost,

And don't forget to keep your fingers crossed.
