If it were not for Benny Hill, I would not have a clue as to regarding my over the pond friends humor. Can you indulge and tell us what made Coupling funny? Posted: Jun 28, 08 3:34amYesterday I was downloading music from iTunes. I got some Cledus T Judd songs. He does parodies of popular country songs. He is really funny. I was laughing my ass off. Laughing decreases stress hormones in your body and amps up natural killer T cells that go to bat against virus-infected and malignant cells, a study revealed. Watching a funny movie, giggling with a friend, or attending a comedy act are great ways to keep your immune system strong. At the tone of being repetitive on TBD general main page posts, what is the last belly laughter you have had? I know I am overdue, what about you? You may have recently smiled or chuckled, but my last belly laughter was about 12-14 years ago and it was due to "slap stick comedy" real life experience. What makes you laugh? Who makes you laugh? What is your pleasure, or how can we contribute? Pass it on! ![]() Unfortunately, it seem little entertainment is funny, really funny anymore...I do not enjoy watching people behaving badly or being hurt by doing foolish things...or exploiting those things that are potentially dangerous as humor. I find that spending time with friends and being silly, or hanging out with children does much more for my funny bone...lol. Posted: Jun 28, 08 6:09amYou know, I try to laugh every day. And I try to make someone laugh everyday, but get a lot of groaners from my family. However the last really big laugh I had was the other day. I was talking to my sister on the phone. The first part of the call was not too happy. She had just found out that her unmarried daughter is 5 months pregnant. So of course not much to laugh about. Than suddenly my sister starts laughing her head off. I tried to ask her what she was laughing about but she was laughing SO hard, I couldn't understand a thing she said. Now I am laughing as well but I don't know WHY!! P.S. my mom used to do this. She would try to tell a joke and then she would laugh so hard, we couldnt understand her. Then invariably when she finally got the joke out, it wasn't even that funny. Finally her laughing subsides and she says that her husband had been out in their garden picking some squash. As he came in carrying the squash, his shorts had fallen down around his ankles. Now we are both laughing again. As we calmed down, I said "Well just tell him, say NO to crack" and that started us again. Then finally I said,"Well at least he didn't put a squash down in his underwear, and say Hey Baby wanna do it?" She laughed again and said,"That was what was really funny, he didn't have underwear on!!" Then we were gone again and I think I laughed so hard that I passed out. Humor is great and I truly believe it will make us live longer. That is why all the great old comedians like George Burns and Bob Hope lived to be 100. One last thing. A comedian I fund very funny but not necessarily in a laugh out loud sort of way is Demetri Martin. One of his quotes is # “I wonder what the most intelligent thing ever said was that started with the word ‘dude.’ ‘Dude, these are isotopes.’ ‘Dude, we removed your kidney. You’re gonna be fine.’ ‘Dude, I am so stoked to win this Nobel Prize. I just wanna thank Kevin, and Turtle, and all my homies.’” Have a wonderful day and laugh!!! If not I'll send you a picture of me in a Speedo. THAT will do it for you. |
