without knowing anything more than this post I would suggest you plan an exit strategy. Not suggesting you up and quit but get your resume in order, begin rebuilding your network of contacts, and start detailing what your perfect job would be. I suggest this for two reasons, one it is easier to find a good job when you have a job, you can afford to be choosy and secondly you might get a sense of control over your own destiny that will help mitigate those panic attacks brought on by a bad boss... of course as with all internet advice YMMV.

Posted: Jul 9, 08 6:59amThere are times you are going to want to smoke. My (oft times WRONG and misguided) advice is to do it consciously. Make the decision to smoke after careful consideration of your options. When you do smoke, focus your complete awareness on it. Dont chat, work, shop, dont do anything, but smoke. You dont have to smoke the whole thing, either. It's ok to 'waste' it. And just because you had this one (or one half) of a cigarette, does not mean you have stopped quitting, either. Quitting is often a process, not just an event. Good luck. JackieRodzinski TheInquiringEye Posted: Jul 9, 08 7:03amExit strategy is full effect. I just happen to live in an area where decent jobs are hard to come by...those with full benefits and a solid salaried position. I will prevail - it just hits me hard on occasion. Counting down the days to the weekend and cocktails - this is my birthday weekend and I am taking Monday off - so another fun-filled three dayer! Thanks, I just had to scream for a second before I became undone! Love you TBDers! Trish Posted: Jul 9, 08 7:08amMy apologies ahead of my comment for side barring this thread: Steve - what does YMMV mean please? I'm trying to learn all these techie terms. Thanks. Trish, I too hope your day gets better. Posted: Jul 9, 08 7:09amPAXIL - My anti-kill the boss drug. Posted: Jul 9, 08 7:13amHere's a clue for you. Stop smoking and maybe your will be able to breathe better. Did you ever think that there might be a direct correlation between smoking and breathing? And between a feeling of panic and nicotine withdrawal? Also, the rest of us could breathe better too! |
