So does this mean that someone who might have a pig tattoo (no one that we know, of course) among all her...I mean...his other tattoos, can't date a Jewish man unless the pig is stamped 'Kosher'?

It was suppose to be a carp swimming upstream or something like that. To me it looked like a swimming penis. It was horrible. Posted: Jul 17, 08 11:14pmAs I understood it, part of the purpose of tattooing the numbers on the Jews as the Germans did during WWII was because of the Jewish belief of not being able to be buried in Jewish cemeteries (consecrated ground), but also not going to heaven either. And a humiliation factor, also, coming from the fact that it was forced on them. The article was fascinating! Posted: Jul 17, 08 11:31pmMy Momma told me if I got a tattoo...she would carve it off!..................ouch! neddless to say I don't have one :) I think alot folks aside from the jewish families, really frowned on them a generation ago. But, thanks for the interesting post :) Posted: Jul 18, 08 12:20amInteresting article about customs, Robin. Tattoo's are fashion, style, and culture. Christian's are just as divided over this citing, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images" as well as, "You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD." The only reason I would not get one is because as one's skin ages, it begins to look like a moving picture. Is it really any wonder that the tattoo removal business is booming right now?
