Fighting Family Members

What really causes family members to fight? Is it the pint up frustration of never really saying what you want, then one day blurting it out in a rage of fury?

I have a little brother (really he's 39), who is "as sweet as can be". We have never faught in 39 years, except for the occasional "tit for tat".

He's very intelligent, he's respectful, he works, he goes to school, and is also getting married next year to a very nice young lady. But, he's is also very thoughtless and a Momma's boy!!

He has lived with Momma all of his life -- has never paid rent, has never cleaned his room, has never cleaned the house, has never washed dishes, has never washed clothes -- Momma does all of this for him (get the picture?)

Big Sis (by the way, that's me) does everything for Momma from home repairs, taking her to the doctor, spending the night at her home when she's sick, sending her on vacation, cleaning her house, cutting her grass, racking her leaves, etc. Big Sis even takes care of little brother, sometimes, such as bailing him out of financial trouble.

Little brother bought a house a year ago. To get him out of Momma's house, I contributed toward his down payment and closing cost, never once asking for the money back. Unfortunately, 'lil brother refuses to move in because he doesn't have any furniture, so he continues to live with Momma.

Mom has several Maple trees in her yard. As of last week, every leaf on each tree has fallen. Yesterday, I told him "WE" need to rake and bag the leaves. We agreed to start at 10am.

10am today, little brother was N-O-W-H-E-R-E to be found. As a result, I began raking leaves in the front of the house. By 12pm, I began to bag them. By 2:30pm, I had stuffed 34 bags of leaves by M-Y-S-E-L-F!!

At 2:45pm, 'lil brother shows up stating...."Sorry, I forgot". No need to say, I lit into him like a fire cracker!! Our first real fight.

Why do some men feel exempt from parental obligation?

Is it true that ....

"A son is a son until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter for the rest of your life"?
