Judicial system, ability to have innocent arrested malice through fabrications. How? Here?

In an effort to find my "wayward" husband to have him "served" with separation suit, I was told I needed a physical location and that I could look for him myself. I called local law enforcement to make sure I didn't cross any lines and did things "by the book". I learned that he is living with another woman and apparently he was fearful of my knowing this. He was outside when I drove by and went to the magistrates office and convinced them to file stalking charges against me. At no time have I ever followed him, harrassed him, or put ANYONE in any "fear for their safety"...Yet it worked for him. He is a very believeable confidence man and I have recently learned...involved with drug trafficing. How does one get away with any of this? I am trying to have my life back. I do realise that you cannot stop anyone from "talking", but when you continue to hurt people with no apparent remorse, there should be something in place to protect the innocent. I have learned a little about "malicious prosecution". It can be a very costly process. Any feedback would be appreciated.
