I don't think marijuana should be in Mass. There's enough incense sure - but I'm usually trying to pray. I just don't think it's a good thing for everyone to get the munchies.

I dont mean every day; I dont mean while driving or while performing other responsible tasks. JackieRodzinski TheInquiringEye ![]() I love it when this questions comes up in different forums. Has it proven to be more harmful than alcohol yet? Some stats say yes, some no. We know what drinking alcohol can do to people. Why is it still being advertised on tv & bill boards? So what about pot? Can it be "smoked" in moderation as people say they can drink in moderation? Now LSD & the others, absolutely not....however there is no "getting rid" of these things. And free will has more to do w/it than anything. People use their free will power everyday, God Forbid. But yet HE's the one who gave that to us. There are more white collar users than blue collar if you'll forgive that termonology. All of it, alcohol, pot & drugs of any kind will take a "man"down. I'm using the term "man" as all human beings. So many ppl use pot for recreationl use just as they do alcohol & they do mix the two.....the difference besides potentially stopping all bodily functioning is that pop is illegal but go ahead & kill your self legally w/the booze. I'm not judging just making a statement. Posted: Aug 5, 08 9:00amIt is bad in the sense that it is illegal. Marijuana is NOT the same thing as crack, meth, heroine, etc. I wouldn't want to do LSD now. I think it would make my brain explode. But I don't look down on people who do it. The problem with Acid, is you can't grow your own. And yes, I know I am laying my head on the chopping block here. I do have feelings about this issue though. There are many here who would very much like to use marijuana for more that just the getting high aspect, although that would be the main reason in most cases, and why not for crummy sake? As long as it remains illegal, I won't be toking up. Just that simple. My husband and I no longer know anyone who does, and since it's illegal, we wouldn't invite new acquaintances over to toke in our house. But if the day ever comes when it is legal to grow our own, and when it gets erased from the drugs looked for on random drug testing, we will be growing and using pot for relaxation and enjoyment. I'm wishing, but not holding my breath for that day. Posted: Aug 5, 08 9:11amNeither good or bad. Inhaling burning leaves and paper of any kind can be damaging to lungs. Willie Nelson, Louie Armstrong and the likes of McKinley Morganfield, all lifetime smokers as well as at least one of our past presidents of these United States. Its all personal preference. LSD? That's a little too strong although I have fond memories, or do I? Really since I cannot control what the masses do I put no concern into it. People on my block do not appear to be massively halucinating. The police seem to keep good care of the criminal activity and the lawyers do a great job of collecting residual incomes from those that try to talk their way out of things behaved into. Weed should be legalized and taxed heavily and I should get that tax money. This way I could buy more of what I prefer. Budweiser. You speak of God, and I find that very interesting because, I was thinking about the ritual use of mind enhancing substances to augment spirituality (tribal use of peyote, etc.) I dont beleive LSD (for example) has ever been shown to be addictive, or even habit forming. And ofcourse it's not for everyone. I guess I'm not really talking about mindless, lets get f*****-up partying. Something more like cocktail hour or paradigm shift... TIE Posted: Aug 5, 08 9:32amI forget who said it, but "Freedom is the space between the walls." We criminalize things when we think that the enforcement effort is less costly than allowing the behavior to go unchecked. Murder is an obvious example, so is writing bad checks. If we all decide that the problems - health, etc. - of smoking a joint do not warrant enforcing laws against it, we will vote for people who will repeal those laws. Until then, keep trying to change the law if you don't like it. TIE ![]() My husband has said that he would like to do acid, or peyote, something like that as he moves into his 60's. When we were younger, he used peyote a few times to "see" in, through, and around things coming at him in life. It worked for him. I in no way see using these things as bad. |
