Travelling to Budapest, Hungary in April - Tips?

I will be visiting Budapest, Hungary in April 2008.

I will do the standard internet search on traveling to that part of the world - weather, shots, foods etc.

Any other tips. I may be able to stay just a day or 2 more.

What is the 1 recommended place I should visit?

I've been to Budapest... ITS FANTASTIC and I plan to go again, maybe later this year. If you only have a short time, please go to one of the big hotels & book yourself on a short city tour - you get an over view of everything, all the important sites, and then you can go back with a taxi and explore on your own. The architecture is amazing...there is also a very cool indoor-shopping-bazaar thing, its 2 levels, inside of a big building. Great to pick up some cute prezzies for the family, etc., and also an interesting cultural experience. Shots ??? Its Europe. Very modern.

I still haven't booked my trip to Budapest but can't resist sharing some feedback from a friend who just went and loved it--with one important reservation. Seems the food in Budapest, while delicious, is rich and heavy. My friend gained 15 pounds in nine days.
