Ordinary Joe: What I Did Today

Even if the earth did not move under your feet today, tell us what you accomplished.

To kick us off, my day has been 11 1/2 hours long and I know I have peaked. I will not be any brighter than my last communique here today.

I called my daughter (we never talk on the phone), but I was worried about an injury she had and hasn't updated me on.

DH is spending the day in the city with a friend, so it is a selfish day spent primarily on me and vegetating and renewal if that isn't an oxy moron.

I did run to the store and got a big buy on clearance Brussels sprouts and turkey bacon. A few items that lightened my wallet by 20 bucks, but can anyone really resist a bargain? I walked away all fuzzy feeling.

Next? Connect?

Huh? What Say You?

Clearance brussel sprouts? Please tell me there's no such thing... but then, for me it would be hard to find enough money to make me eat them.

The mind reels.

Or perhaps it's just the lack of sleep. My day started after a refreshing three hours of sleep... my own fault since I stayed up FAR too late talking to a college friend. Totally and completely worth it... so today's big accomplishment is making it to work and remaining upright. Yay me!

I accomplished my goal for the day. The toy I wanted to purchase for my charge came in stock. (Thank goodness for email notifications)

With a few taps of keys I purchased one Little Tikes TotSports Easy Score Basketball Set for a darling 14 month old.

I also found out my purchase for the little girl from the angel tree is on its way. One year old Mary Jane wanted a ride on car. I got her a little purple one. So cute.

Made my day!

I now laugh at myself for my terminology. I won't explain clearance. My husband will be so thrilled at this purchase (his favorite veggie) that he will not be ticked off at the tire marks on the lawn I brought in.

Katherine, I cannot function on 3 hours of sleep, let alone tackle an 8 hour workday.

That has got to be the coolest college friend that I never had. It kinda sounds quite worth it. I hope you function cooly cool today!

SpiritedFilly, much of my Christmas shopping is done on line, months before Christmas arrives. I know the satisfaction of getting the perfect gift. You are a charitable giver which makes the gift more meaninful!

staying up late to talk to old friends is ALWAYS worth sleep deprivation the next day. anyway, it's FRIDAY it's friday it's fri-fri-friday!

I did something similar -- email/talked with one of my favorite friends in the whole world... he is always full of wisdom and humor. and he blew me away with a great essay he just wrote on the HIV/AIDS epidemic. (Here's a link case any of you are interested: When Plagues Won't End.)

don't say I never gave you anything

LoraMa, Steven is right on spreading the word. Anyone remember Ryan White? Anyone still fears personal contact (email not considered) with a HIV/AIDS victim?

I am glad you also had the opportunity to spend time, on-on-one, with a great friend.

Did you high-five your computer? Sometimes you have to when there's nobody around to see how smart and effective you just were.

Good job! You just made a couple of little children very happy.
