Inspiration from Watching the Olympics

Okay...I'll admit it...I have Olympic fever!!! From the jaw-dropping opening ceremony to the breath-taking finishes of Michael Phelps and everything in between, I have felt a physical revitalization and a need to get on the treadmill, work harder on the universal machine, and, when possible, hit the pool for some lap swimming.

Tomorrow I turn 48. For a long time, I've had this pact with myself that I would wake up to 50 in what would be considered very good physical condition "for that age". So, I've made a decision. I, like many of you, have gym equipment in my house. I have managed to get it all together in a workout area. The next step is where I challenge myself and all of you out there that have the equipment and the initial gumption. I'm heading to my local gym, seeking out a good trainer, and going to have a sit down with him/her showing what I have at home to use. Then I'm hiring that person to plan a program for me. I don't need a sitter. I don't need a trainer. I need education on practical application of the stuff I have without continuing to buy more. Let's do this; let's use that equipment for purposes other than clothes racks. I'll check back in two years and one day...planning to be pretty damn nifty at fifty :)).
