Just read about this and thought others here might be interested:

Maker Faire 2007 (the second annual, two-day festival sponsored by MAKE and CRAFT magazines). The event celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It's for creative, resourceful folks who like to tinker and love to make things.

This was an amazing event last year. Highly recommended. It's like a gathering of all the people who have ever dismantled their bike or a radio, and attempted to put it back together.

A lot of my friends went last year and it sounded really cool. I will definitely try to go this year!
