I was looking for websites where I could talk about my own website and get out the word. While TDB has brought a few visitors to my site, it actually has served an entirely different and unexpected purpose in my life. It has opened up avenues for me to talk about a lot of different things going on in my life, particularly my divorce, which I am in the middle of right now.

I have met some very caring and helpful people and established some meaningful relationships. There are a lot of nice people out there and when you are going through a difficult time in your life, like many of us are, it is especially helpful to be able to throw out your problem and have five or six people give you their support and help.

I have been moved by many of the comments I have read by various people on this site and one friend in particular that I have made has really been an inspiration to me.

So to answer the question, I didn't really get what I came for, but I got something better!

A place for people over 40. I had a myspace page but found the kids on the site to be a problem

Why do you stay? because the people here understand most of what I'm going through and they seem to be able to read typo

What is the positive aspect of this site?I've now got an email relationship with people who are helpful and wise

What is the negative aspect of this site? Well sometimes I ask questions and end with comments on my life that have nothing to do with the question.

Have you read something that has given you motivation? Yes, one person in particular has been incredibly helpful to me and I appreciate it so very much

Have you given motivation?I hope so,

Are you appreciative of a voice in an exclusive age range? Yes I am, its not easy to find a place like this.

Are you feeling your oats that you have a free forum to be vocal on?Sometimes i am but I'm still working on it.

Will you become a typical MIA aka known as lurker?

Uncle Spencer, perhaps unbeknown to you, we crossed paths on some thread. You are an honor to know.

Although your original incentive motive was not altruistic, I find you including others rather than excluding, and I find that delightful. God bless us all as I got much more than I ever anticipated too.

I found this site quite by accident...I don't even remember what site I was on that recommended TBD for networking. I was looking for social connections more grown up than MySpace and more relevant to my age-group.

I found so much more! TBD has given me a voice for my writing (Write Away Camp and The Writing Group) and some excellent support both with my family and my writing. I try to check in every day...to connect with my online friends and to just have a little "ME" time. The people who participate on this site are, for the most part, very unique and truly wonderful people.

I feel I should say Thank You, for helping to create and maintain a really wonderful place called TBD!

trippihippy, I must say you have the gift of patience and a listening ear to answer. I had to go to your profile to see your age as I queried your wisdom. Thank you for reading and answering this question! If you are a wife/mommy they are fortunate to have you .

Here Here, TraumaGoddess, shall we raise our glass to someone as the powers that be behind the concept of tbd? You are not a "trauma goddess" as I know the terminology. You are the real deal, speaking the truth with emotion. Since when are we ignored for speaking the truth? Have a great day!

How did you find it?

~ I read an article in Newsweek that mentioned the site.

What were you looking for and have you received?

~OK, I said this elsewhere on the site, but it is what I feel about TBD. " I came to TBD as a maturing adult to seek comradery and companionship from intelligent, like minded souls. To learn from the wisdom and experience of others and to offer my sapience and experience to those whom I could. "

Why do you stay?

~ I stay because I enjoy the company of intelligent like minded souls.

What is the positive aspect of this site?

What is the negative aspect of this site?

~ The positive would be the absolute compassion I have seen in the members. A place where " adults " can be grown ups and children at the same time, lol.

~ The negative shows itself.

Have you read something that has given you motivation?

~ Oh yes. Many awe inspiring threads here.

Have you given motivation?

~ I hope I have. I have tried, and will continue to try to motivate others.

Are you appreciative of a voice in an exclusive age range?

~ Yes, though I wouldn't say exclusive age range. I feel I barely made it in the door, lol, (40 in a mere 2 weeks) and I have seen really youngs ones here.

Are you feeling your oats that you have a free forum to be vocal on?

~ WOOHOO!!!!!!

Will you become a typical MIA aka known as lurker?

~I don't plan on becoming a lurker, might get busy every so often, but no lurking for me. That's just plain creepy. Like the people under the stairs!
