I think we are lucky to live in a time when age doesn't dictate fashion.
I will admit, though, that your "bowling team" image is part of the reason I usually keep mine longer....

I will admit, though, that your "bowling team" image is part of the reason I usually keep mine longer.... Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:09amI've almost always had long hair. The two times that it was cut completely off I was devastated. Once when I was 6 and Mom decided a bowl cut was the way to go. Bowl cut you ask? Well you put a round bowl on top of the head and cut what sticks out. Second time was a month before my wedding when I was 20 - I had a perm put in and it fried my waist length hair. For myself, I feel more feminine with long hair, but that's just me. Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:14amI have only had short hair twice as well. once when the mother did the infamous BOWL cut and then in my late 20's but I prefer my hair down to my butt. I have it mid length now due to getting it caught in fences, horses grabbing it, or shutting it in stall doors.. Yah the snap of the neck is not pleasant. Many salons will tell you as we age long hair has to go. I do not buy that. If you care for it well and it don't look like the "frizzy hippie" rats nest I think it is very sexy and very pretty. not to mention all the different styles you can do with it. Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:33amAccording to my mother, anyone over 40 shouldn't have hair below their shoulders. I'm afraid I don't agree. I've had my hair just about every color and every style imaginable--even shaved on one side and long on the other during the 80's. (MTV hit me pretty hard!) But I had hair down to my butt only about 5 months ago and I cut it all off on impulse. I did donate it to Locks of Love, but I miss my hair. Isn't that shallow? Something about flowing hair DOES make one feel younger, but I'm not sure it made me LOOK younger. Now I just want it to grow back!!!! Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:35amI wear my hair short, always have, I'm not a primp type person, I seldom wear makeup, hate stuff (gels, mousse, sprays) in my hair. I have a natural curl, I have grown out my hair a few time per male requests but I don't like the time it takes to maintain it. Short hair suits me. ![]() Graduation Hair style ![]() Hairstyle now Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:38am![]() For myself, I feel more feminine with long hair, but that's just me. ![]() Me too KA....going to keep my long locks as long as I can... Posted: Sep 6, 08 5:43amShort. Very short. About 3" long at the longest bits short. Left to its own devices, my hair waves/curls...and that was kinda fun once in awhile, but the consensus amongst friends and associates is that short hair suits me. I actually feel more feminine with it short. Then there's the matter of maintenance. I'm on the road a lot, and during one of my long-hair phases, I did the math: at 30 minutes a day (including wash and dry time), I was spending 3.5 hours a week on my hair. Which means I was spending 14 hours a month on my hair. Which means I was spending about a week every year futzing with my hair. And there are so many betters ways to spend a week! |
