I have a 2 and a half year old son, and he's figured out that Christmas means presents. Here's where I need a little advice, please. I don't want him to believe that a fat man in a red suit comes down the chimney in the night and delivers presents to good kids, coal to the bad ones.
Don't get me wrong - I want him to know the MANY ways that Christmas is celebrated. I just don't want to lie to him about Santa.
Grownups, however, look at me like I'm an ogre, denying my boy in the belief in Santa. I looked at one woman who said it wasn't Christmas without Santa, and I said to her, "SANTA isn't Christmas". A reasonable answer, I thought.
Anyway, are there other parents who taught their children about Christmas, but not the belief in Santa?
