I have had very good and very BAD experiences with female bosses. The ones who have the hidden agenda of "I have to promote as many women as I can and make the older men look bad" do a lot of harm to the image of a "woman in charge'. Just as nobody really respects a "woman hater". Nobody really respects a "Ball Buster". Deserved or not, this will be Hillary's biggest hurdle.

I appreciate every one's opinion. I believe that there are those bosses who don't know how to handle power. In my job, my company promotes diversity. So far I have not experienced any problems with equality in promoting. I started witht he company as part time, bottom of the list, and kept working hard to attain the position I now have. I do not see color or gender. In order to be successful, you have to promote people who can support you, be dedicated to the team, and WANT to better themselves. Just because we are women doesn't necessarily mean that we are weak or vindictive. The women who can not separate gender from their decisions obviously should step back and take a look at what they would be doing to their future as a leader. On the other hand, I have had male bosses who believe that a woman's place is in the home. In fact, I had a job one time that I applied for a position that the owner of the business believed that women needed to be at home with the kids. At that time I was a single mother and needed to support my children, as their father would not. I have never had the opportunity to stay at home and be the housewife. What a pleasureable thought! The boss told me that I needed to find a husband who could support me and my children!!! OUCH!!!! I know how I felt about that and know that I would not want another person, male or female feel that because of male or female, could never better themselves. If we all would just step back and sole search who we really are and get rid of all the insecurities that so many people have, maybe this country would have less hate and more success. I have two sons and one daughter. I raised my sons to be fair and open minded. My older son is in a position to promote people. He is very supportive of the females in the workforce. He knows that his mother had a struggle to raise them and sees that I was very determined to be successful. As far as Hillary, I don't have an opinion on the subject on the male/female situation. I think who ever gets elected I think they should be able to make decisions for the best interest all Amercians. i love to hear back from you. As matter of fact, I would love to hear others opinions also. Throughout my life, I have had good experiences and bad experiences. I have been in jobs that most women would never have thought to do. i was very educated in the automotive field and ran into all kinds of walls. There was always some man challenging my knowledge. I was good at what I did, and proved it. I have had men working along side me who supported me and encouraged me. Without them, I might have given up. Thank You to all those men.!!! I have five brothers and they had to learn the chores that "only women" were expected to do. Sewing, knitting, cooking, doing laundry, doing dishes, and changing diapers all were their chores as well as mine. Hats off to all those men who can do those things. This includes my two sons!!!! |
