When you have pets...

Paradise Regained

Do you sometimes worry about losing them?

I lost my last 2 little buddies to my ex. I had to leave my cat in Canada and she died a year later. I had a cat here that we rescued from a ditch and she got run over a year later.

I guess unless we are really old we are likely to outlive our pets. But it's hard to imagine when they lie at your feet or engage in silly antics or greet you at the door as though you had been lost forever.

Wow, Paradise, you have opened a "whole bag of pet food" w/ this topic, at least for me. We have a tabby kitty & a black lad. Both are beautiful & loving & ours, Not the kids...know what I mean?

**Our tabby is 11 & lab 8- & you are right, unless we die unexpectedly they will die before we do. However, knowing from personal experience it still could be years b/c of the life that they have...no stress...& very loved. I believe that's the key for our pets longevity.

**I can tell stories about these 2-until "the cows come home," but there are really boring to others...except ppl who really know us & the pets.

**Speaking of knowing things, these 2-know our habits & voice tones & even the way we walk to understand what we are about to do. And I think we're pretty in tune w/ them as well...Hahaha!!

**What's funny is that Goldie our tabby is the boss of the house. She made that clear to Lucy our Lab right up front. And she's a little tabby, not weighing over 9pounds her entire 11-years. Lucy on the other hand is a solid 100 pounds.

**Let the Grands & GreatGson be here for a visit & oh my Lucy is in heaven. She is taller than the GGson & is so very funny & gentle with him. He shares his snacks w/Lucy & then Lucy cleans his sticky face. What love. The GGson just laughs & laughs. Of course we are are right there while this is going on but they think they are doing something special.

**Well I'd better stop as I have gone on & on.....TexasGma
