I'm listening to a lot of Brian Eno, who sort of flirts on the borders of electronica, techno and ambient.

(and please, no wine bar remixes... ![]() Under the loose mantle of "electronica' I am a huge fan of house music - and actually DJ at various dance events...I play a lot of different kinds of house music; this playlist is mostly the subgenre "deep house' which is smooth and often jazzy. I also play a lot ofbreakbeat and broken beat too. Again, not techno or hiphop but certainly related. (breakbeat was invented when DJ Kool Herc sped up a hip hop "break" and looped it.) Broken beat is one of the most syncopated styles of music you'll ever hear - e.g. sometimes there's not even a drum hit on the downbeat. Ah the interweb of electronic music!
