we may be boomers, but i'm sure we're not all looking for remastered albums of The Who. (and please, no wine bar remixes).

I'm listening to a lot of Brian Eno, who sort of flirts on the borders of electronica, techno and ambient.

NAS, Lupe Fiasco, The Roots, The Herbalizer.

Help redefine midlife with discussions about music from the past few years, not 30 or 40 years ago. And no reunion bands.

Under the loose mantle of "electronica' I am a huge fan of house music - and actually DJ at various dance events...I play a lot of different kinds of house music; this playlist is mostly the subgenre "deep house' which is smooth and often jazzy.

I also play a lot ofbreakbeat and broken beat too. Again, not techno or hiphop but certainly related. (breakbeat was invented when DJ Kool Herc sped up a hip hop "break" and looped it.) Broken beat is one of the most syncopated styles of music you'll ever hear - e.g. sometimes there's not even a drum hit on the downbeat.

Ah the interweb of electronic music!
