CHEAP TOMATOES?

This should make everyone think, be you Democrat, Republican or Independent

>From a California school teacher - - -

"As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:

I am in charge of the English-as-a- second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic

and income levels.

Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll -- but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten. (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK)

I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls(some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids. (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK)

I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing

funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything;my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America . (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK)

I have had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas" ( whores ) and throwing things, that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care

etc., etc, etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?

To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc, etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.

Americans. We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture thatdoes not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate, and an American culture that has become so weak and worried about "politicalcorrectness " that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

If this makes your blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you know.

CHEAP LABOR? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage.

Consumers don't want expensive produce.

Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs.

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth , a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor."

Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for

$5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.

He qualifies for food stamps.

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He requires bilingual teachers and books.

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled , they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare . All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense.

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.

He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.

Working Americans

are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills and his.

The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.

Cheap labor? YEAH RIGHT! Wake up people!

CHEAP TOMATO...

I notice that you are taking your paycheck for not believing in what you work for. You are the biggest fraud of all.

You know why the kids are obese? Because they are not properly fed. You know why they throw food away? Because people like you stand around resenting them for eating it.

It is people like you who sometimes make me ashamed of living in the richest country on earth who would deprive a poor kid of a meal just because you had to make you money the old fashioned way - stealing it from your employer for not doing your job and inheriting it from your father who probably worked like a junkyard dog for it.

If you don't like the way they do things here, instead of sitting around with your fat-assed beer-guzzling friends, try living in a country that doesn't have the blessings we do. See how long you would survive if you had to sneak into another country just to feed your kids.

Thank goodness that God didn't like people like you. He made just enough of you to remind us to be thankful for what we have and be wiling to give a small chip of it to others who aren't as fortunate. Go join your conspiracy theorist friends in some backwoods cabin in Idaho, clean your guns and don't forget to recycle all them beer cans. I guess somewhere along the line that's what you learned it is to be an Uhmurricun!

You are getting a much bigger free ride than any of the people trying to live on a few hundred dollars a month in welfare benefits or the wages that farmers pay to pick fruit. You are collecting a big check followed by a big pension for sitting on your ass complaining about everybody else. What have you done for your country lately? Kept Anheiser Busch in the black?

CHEAP TOMATO...

We woke up and then sadly went back to sleep...

Less than a year ago, a large part of the electorate fueled, informed, and admittedly "ginned-up" by talk radio were crashing the gates of the Congress. We burned tons of toner on the Senate fax machines and tied up the White House "ignore you phone lines". We actually had the brass to demand that 75% of the public's opinion should mean a little something as it relates to Immigration Reform and Border Integrity. We derailed the McCain/Kennedy Bill, and got a Fence Bill instead...with funding

The majority scored a victory over the entrenched and monied lobbyists...albeit a temporary one it seems.

Our attention span just couldn't hold up for 6 months.

Now...Fast Forward just a few months and...

The Fence is going up about as fast as my receding hairline is growing back, the funding was gutted and the language changed to give Skeletor the discretion to ignore at will.

Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Fred Thompson all become "non-events" in the election and drop out.

Hillary and Obama (Frick and Frack on Licenses of illegals and other pro-illegal immigrant issues) surge ahead

McCain, once thought DOA is the front runner in the GOP (Co-Sponser of the Amnesty Bill).

WHAT ARE WE STUPID OR SOMETHING?

Stupid is as Stupid does Mrs. Blue.

I know it's wrong but I needs me some more illegals to help me on my Shrimpin' Boat

Yours Truly,

Forrest

BTW; What is the true long term cost of "dumb downed" classrooms to accomodate the English Challenged?

If I were a Latin American peasant, I'd do whatever to took to get myself and my family here.

Most of the illegals are decent enough people, focused on trying to work, and getting exploited in the process.

However, the cost to our social infrastructure; schools, hospitals, social services of all kinds, is terrific.

The illegals bring diseases we haven't had to deal with for a while. A type of drug resistant tuberculosis is one example.

Some of the illegals are not very nice people at all. A couple of illegals raped and strangled a fourteen year old girl across the river from where I live a couple of months ago. Know any cops that trust you? Ask them about it.

We have towns in the Southwest that now consider themselves Mexican and view any "gringo" presence as an intrusion.

Trades such as roofing, sheetrocking have been reduced to minimum wage or less jobs. Used to be a man could support his family as a sheetrocker.

Then there's the drugs that come across the border.

I could go on, and I've heard all the excuses and how we should be kind to these poor people.

Bottom line, if they aren't stopped from coming, if we don't close off their illegal employment, if we don't close our borders to the drugs and other crime, we will do damage to our country that may well be irreparable.

We are a great nation. It'll take a lot to tear us down, but it can be done and we're doing it.

CHEAP TOMATO...

I am mixed on this one, my wife is a legal US Citizen from Mexico. She came to this country illegally originally for a better life due to the poor conditions in her country. She told me stories of her childhood living in a home built by her father and brothers with dirt floors and an outhouse for a bathroom. And when she came to the US and went to school she was made fun of because she didn't speak english at the time. When we were to get married I asked her why she was continuing the legalization process on her own when she could get grandfathered in when we were married. She said because she had worked hard in this country since she was 16 and felt proud to be a US citizen now and to have done it legally on her own. And my mother in law is also a legal US citizen having gone through the process as well and is very proud to be a citizen.

So all in all I can't say that I would have had the guts at that young an age to move to a strange country not speaking the language, things must have been really bad with no future hope to have done that...

Now wait just a minute, isn't our own goverment responsible for all the rights and privlages they have?

Our country is made up of immigants, very few of us originated here.

I can't blame anyone for wanting a better way of life , and doing everything they can to make that happen, hasn't each one of us done the same thing?

You said this so much better than I could have, or would have, lol. Thnx, my feelings are mutual.
