It's not really a channel but I love the Lehrer NewsHour even if I usually call it McNeil-Lehrer.

Not really a news channel... but the best news show on television these days. Or one of the top three. Posted: Jul 28, 07 6:32am![]() What cable news channel do you watch the most?...............me, cnn/cnbc... ![]() I only watch TV news when there is breaking news (sort of sad because I used to work in TV news). When there is a breaking story, I flip around to see who has what and usually stick with whomever is furthest ahead on the story. I agree with Robin that when it comes to getting insights on news, the Lehrer News Hour is the best but frankly, I find much better insights on the web, newspapers or magazines. Mind you, I would never choose to watch C-SPAN, but my husband is a junkie. I'm not sure why, because I'm sure it raises his blood pressure -- mostly he yells at the callers. He yells at them if they get facts wrong, he yells at them if he disagrees with them, he yells at them if they're just plain stupid. . . you get the idea. I do love The Daily Show, but I used to watch it with my daughter and she doesn't watch it live anymore. Eventhough today it is more the Ifill-Suarez report. It is definitely the best news on television. It is almost as good as All Things Considered and the vernerable Morning Edition. Now I listen to iterations of those and other public media shows via podcasts. I watch Fox, and they are not "fair and balanced." I'm the first to admit that, however, other news outlets are also slanted and often to the left. Why is it that I can admit that Fox is biast toward the right, but folks on the left cannot see CNN as slanted at all? At one point Turner and Fonda owned CNN, yet people think they are objective. Guys like Limbaugh tell you where they are coming from, but the Dan Rathers of the media hide behind the cloke of jouranalism. It is no wonder the Country is so divided, we all watch or read different news. |
