Countdown To Spring

I am so with you Editor, I am so tired of this cold weather. I'm an outdoorsy person but the cold winters here in Michigan aren't good for my Arthritic knees. I love getting out in the Spring listening to the sounds of Spring the birds singing and just watching nature come to life.

I am an Ohioan so I know exactly what Michigan weather is. I was doing fine in December and January, and then February through a loop with extreme cold and snow. So I am ready to pa-hr-tee on! Spring is my favorite season because of nature reviving.

I noticed the season teasing us here in NY. The snow is melting and the birds are chirping. People are starting to come out from hibernation. Every day this week I have a get together, social or business. Can't wait for spring to spring!

Better stock up on allergy pills.

And from Chi town, I'm with you both. Living half a block from the Lake causes what we call "wind tunnels" that will sweet up a street suddenly and seriously nearly knock you over! We've had a very cold winter as I believe has been shared with in Michigan and Ohio as well as many other states. The cold is very bad for my health and having this winter to direct and plan my life around what the weather will be, is pretty frustrating to say the least. I have osteoarthritis in my spine and it's a bitch!

Spuff, it is not teasing me. It is tormenting me. The last two days were ice storms bringing branches down and the driveway so icy that DH could not get out of the driveway. I do feel for you if you have allergies. Not a favorable time of the year.

editor, having lived in NYC, their weather is quite different from this midwest mess really.

i am soooooo sick of this slush that falls from the sky and the way that the weather changes from nice to very nasty without any warning.

spring is what we here in chi look so forward to and as soon as it hits 60 degrees, and sometimes less, people are out in shorts and halter tops!! i just can't wait until it's really spring so that all of our great festivals and street/neighborhood art shows can start not to mention when our most favorite outdoor fruit and vegetable markets open up.

After many beautiful sunny days, we're going to hit freezing tonight.

Great...the mice will be in.
