Happy 4-4. I think I'm weird but I love dates that repeat; Feb 2nd, March 3rd, April 4th. Like that. Kind of a mishmosh of math freak/poet nut. Anyway, am I the only person that saw that new Writeaway being started on April 8th? I sent in my request to be included but have yet to hear. Do we hear back or do we just submit? I've forgotten now.

It looks to be a busy weekend but the weather will be gorgeous, in the mid-70's with sunshine. The three children will be in and out, some badly needed yard work needs to be done, and the ever-present bills and laundry and dishes and housework will be tended to. Perhaps we will take an hour or so to play Frisbee in the park or take a walk down by the river. Whatever we decide will be fine, I'm sure.

It was in the flash for just two days and now it is gone. It was not from Adair Lara or anyone I recognized..I wonder if it was a joke or if it was pulled. No biggie. I thought it was kind of weird with the fiction/addiction still going on. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes I have seen it too, but postponed to sign up for it, because I am not sure that will have time for it.

My weekend will be busy. We have some bad weather in the area. Tornado tore up parts of Jackson and the tornado warnings are still on the news. If stays like that all night, most likely I will be working tomorrow again.

If not I will be able finish my story and maybe...maybe submit

Something hit me hard today - weather, pollen, both - who knows? Perhaps it was the letting go...regardless, I was whipped in the worst way. Stayed home to recover and still haven't. Had a great dinner with the girls and Scrabble afterwards. It's a short spell because my youngest turns 9 on Sunday, but it's her mother's time with her that day, so we'll do what we do tomorrow.

Late night on Highway 17 to Thunder Bay,

along the shore of Lake Superior north from Sault Ste Marie

full of fuel and determination to get there by morning.

My woman dozing in the passenger seat surrounded

by blinding darkness, little civilization,

only the occasional car passing south.

Time passed without notice

until a massive burning object

streaked across the black heavens,

fired from the friction of the atmosphere,

bright bits and pieces trailing,

long sharp tail sparkling.

It was a minute, maybe two or less

before it was snuffed out,

no embers left except in my memories.

The stubborn adrenaline of serendipity

kept me awake and going

to see dawn paint Thunder Bay.

Pulling over on its outskirts to pause in wonder,

looking East and changing places,

heading West drifting in and out.
