May Day event selections due May 15...

Just checking in - I think Mayday took its toll on me....and I've started some new activities that leave me a little strapped for time. So, my next challenge is to arrange my new schedule and create time for writing. I'll need to do so more deliberately than before, which is hard for my natural laziness.
I plan to get back in the saddle next week, though, for I have the week off and plenty of time.
My daughter gave me two on target books for Mother's Day - Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life by Anne Lamott and The Poet's Companion: A Guide to the Pleasures of Writing Poetry.
I have no excuses now. :-)

I know what you mean, Otter. I have a kind of evil hangover going on, too.
I also have a couple of late night meetings to attend this week, which is definitely throwing me off.
Still, I'm polishing off an evolving story in a flash format I hope to throw out in these parts soon.
Looks like you had a good Mother's Day...

I don't know if I mentioned here that I'm thinking about going back to school in the fall. I don't know if I really want to do it, but I'm being pressured on a couple of fronts. For one thing, I've done the work full-time/school part-time thing, and it sucked -- and that was 17 years ago, when I was still producing estrogen.
So today I finally got a communication from the school telling me that they needed more transcripts before they could tell me if I had enough credits so I could do this in four years, which is one more thing I have to take care of. One college provides an online form which you can print out and mail in, but the other one (the one I hated for all sorts of reasons) makes you write a letter with specific information.
"It's always something," as Roseanne Roseannadanna would say.

So curious minds want to know what it is you plan to study?
Is this something work is requiring or asking for you to do?
Are you applying to two schools?
Sorry, can't think of any more questions...for now.

I have a two year engineering degree (and a B.S. and a M.L.S. but those were in another life). I have been working in the engineering field for the last twelve years. The community college where I got my A.A.S. has made a once-in-a-lifetime arrangement with a SUNY four-year school where a cohort of students could get the last two years' worth of courses to earn a bachelor's in engineering technology. We would take two courses per semester over four years.
The problem is I went to one school for the first two years of my college career, and graduated from a second college. That's why I need two additional transcripts in addition to the one from the community college I already submitted.

Got it.
I'm beginning to sense the conundrum...

The head of the engineering department at the community college was a real sweetheart. Since I already had a B.S., I didn't have to take Freshman English, or any of those pesky general ed requirements. He gave me credit for a computer class I had taken previously because the course was still offered and still taught by the same professor. I hadn't taken calculus in over 25 years, but he gave me credit for that, too. So now I have to dredge up those transcripts that show I actually passed calculus in 1965 so I have the pre-requisite to take calc III if I decide to go forward with this.
