Flash fiction. Not a new art. Hemingway's For sale: Baby shoes, never worn. is quite a story for six words.
So for this next writing exercise, let us explore this world of flash fiction at the micro level. Just 250 words or less (about a half page in Word using 12 point font, 1.25” margins left/right, 1” top margin). That's all you'll get to tell us a tale of fiction pulled from your imagination. No prompts and a fresh work if you please.
As usual, one submission per person, no pictures and in order to have a relevant commentary, please post submissions as separate discussions. This may get cumbersome, but it allows for a conversational flow to the comments for each story. Please make sure you include FLASH EVENT at the beginning of the title of your discussion/submission so we can keep track of the submissions.
General comments on the exercise itself can be posted in the daily discussions.
For those seeking constructive criticism from our members, please add FEEDBACK at the end of the title as well.
As always, remember the TBD Community Guidelines.
Last but not least, nominations for your favorite stories will be collected and many among you submitting will be presented with a virtual Gordon award for outstanding contribution to the flash form of fiction in an online community environment.
You have until midnight Saturday, June 28th to post your discussion. Good luck and have fun!
