Country music and it's lyrics have always been a love of mine. Cheatin' songs have always been a big part of country music. Some such as Moe Bandy's "She just started liking cheating songs" hint at the possibility that a lover is cheating while others such as Alabama's "Old Flame" add more certainty. Others, like The Eagles "Lying Eyes"projects a good story. "Lying Eyes"also has one of my all-time favorite lines in it which is "Every form of refuge has it price." Words so true as many a gal has learned.
Andy Williams once remarked after performing a country number, "Those boys down in Nashville write a pretty good song with a lot of feeling and meaning." That they do.
Over the years its been said, "If you listen to country music long enough you will hear your song, a story that fits your life. Some cheatin' songs tell a story complete enough to be the outline for a story or book. Got a favorite cheating song?
