It all started on a Sunday, at the bridal shop, with my future, daughter-in-law, her family and friends.
While I sat on the chair, watching the actions of the bridesmaids, the matron of honor and the soon to be, bride's mother try on different dresses, I started thinking about my own wedding. But my thoughts were interrupted,
by one of the bridesmaid.
Finally, it was over. They found the right dresses. I decided to make a joke, so that the fittings won't become boring.
Now, it was time for the bride, to pick out her wedding gown. She'd picked out three wedding gowns she liked.
I gave her my opinion. I told her the ones that looked
good on her. She picked one of the wedding gowns, that I
also liked. Then she went and took care of the money and the ordering part for her gown,
We left the bridal shoppe, a couple of hours later. We stopped next door and got something to eat. Then we all went home........
As the day of the wedding drew near. It started out with the picking up of the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom, in a limosine. The bride, the groom,
the bridesmaid, the matron of honor and the groomsmen
were already in the first limosine.
The bridal party proceeded
to the park, to take photos of the bridal party. Even though, it was a very chilly day.
What made it worse, everyone had to removed their coats
or jackets before taking the photos.
Afterward, the bridal party proceeded to the, Masonic
Hall, for the wedding.
The bride and the groom, repeated their vows. Afterward, they were pronounced, man and wife.
Now, it was time for the dance between the groom and the bride. The groom was a little tipsy, but that didn't stop him. He was having a lot of fun doing his thing. He was getting down! The bride did her thing too. She didn't hold back. She shooked what her mother gave her. Then the groom danced with the mother of the bride and the grandmother. The groom was looking for his mother, which was me. He wanted to dance with me, but I went to the bathroom. But I didn't mind missing the dance, because my feet were killing me!
When I got back from the bathroom, my son called me to come and dance with him. I shook my head, no! Then my niece, Karen, started taking pictures of all of us. That went on for awhile. Then it was time for food to be served.
There were a lot of foods. They had, peas and rice, potato salads, macaronia and cheese, baked and fried chicken,
stewed turkey wings, green salad, ham, steak, collard greens, green beans. There were sparkling apple ciders,
sodas, and alcoholic beverages. We all were told to look at the menu, and let the servers, know what we wanted on our plates. The foods were very tasty and delicious.
After we finished eating, there was the cutting of the wedding cake. The bride gave cake to the groom. Then the groom gave cake to the bride. It
was really hilarious. After the cake was served to
the guests, it was time for the bride to throw the bouquet. The bouquet was caught by one of the groomsman's girlfriend.
Now, it was time for the groom to remove the garter belt from his bride. The groom made it so hilarious. He used his teeth to remove the garter belt from her thigh. Once that was done, he threw the garter belt. It was caught by one of his groomsman.
The groomsman decided to make it funnier. He used his teeth to place the garter belt on his girlfriend's thigh. Wow!! It was getting hot in there! Even though, it made the guests laughed.
They had gifts to give each guest that were at the wedding and reception. They were cute little gifts. Nice
keepsakes. After they passed out the gifts, there were more
dancing. And the people who wanted seconds on their plates, were told to go and help themselves.
Now, it was getting time for me to leave. I had to go and pick up, my grandchild from the sitter. It was almost time for everyone to leave anyway. They only rented the hall for a certain length of time. So I bid my goodbyes to the bride, who was now, my daughter-in-law, the groom, my son and the bride's family.
The wedding was beautiful. The bride and the groom looked so nice together. I told my son, he looked like the Godfather. He was dressed all in white. I really enjoyed myself.
~The End~
