Hello everyone and thanks to those that have responded to the first prompt. I am anticipating some more responses from our group. Also, feel free to comment on the stories that have been posted.
The second prompt appears below.
Here is a reminder on the rules for submission:
- Participants may make one submission per prompt.
- Submissions are limited to no more than 1,000 words (about a page and a half in Word using 12 point font, 1.25” margins left/right, 1” margins top/bottom), so please pay attention. Violators will be called out publicly and teased unmercifully about their inability to count or use word processing software to count for them.
- All submissions are due by the end of the day on Sunday, August 10th. The only time limit you have is midnight Sunday.
- Submissions should be original, nothing previously written.
- Submissions may be fiction, nonfiction or both.
- No pictures may accompany your submissions (it is a writing exercise).
- As always, remember the TBD Community Guidelines.
Some new guidelines:
- Authors, submit your entry as a separate discussion. That way, we can have comments associated with each story and it will make for easier reading and reviewing.
- Authors, if you wish constructive criticism or comments, please indicate that at the beginning of your submission. Readers, please refrain from corrections or criticism unless the author specifically asks for such. Compliments are welcome at all times.
The second prompt: Write a story using the words, "The slamming door broke my train of thought." within the first paragraph of your story.
