Right now I am an assistant manager at a major drug chain. Good money (which I need) very appreciative that I have a good paying job, but I really do not like it! We are short on help due to a cut in hours, and it's as if you can never get everything done that is expected of you because of this. It's also very physical. At my age (58), I know it's going to be difficult to get anything especially since I do not have a degree but I would love to have a government job or come up with something really brilliant that I could do from home (wouldn't we all with the price of gas).
On the other hand, my daughter is 31, has a BA, was a pharmaceutical rep, an administrative assistant and campaign manager for a State Representative while in college but has been out of work for one year now due to 2 major surgeries. She is now well but has not had any nibbles on all of the resumes that she has sent out. Unfortunately her credit is shot since she has had no income of any kind for over a year but she hasn't even been able to get that far in a job offer yet. We live in NC and she would like something in or around the Lake Norman area.
On a lighter note, I took one of those career/personality tests and I came up as an Idealist which they said was about 10% of the population. I don't think that was to my benefit! If anyone would like to throw out some suggestions, I will be more than happy to listen.
