Quick scenario: 4 Interviews. Manufacturing Company. Interviewing for Plant Manager Position, they wanted questions asked, I asked plenty, during plant tour I asked about processes, people, and all of the other things their HR person said I should ask about.
Call comes today, they thought my questioning was coming across as cocky, and trying to get into their business when I wasnt even hired yet.
So, here I sit, having invested close to 20 hours of my time, a couple of tanks of gas, (40 minute commute), and have been told that my line of questioning was the wrong questions.
Granted, I ran my Family company for 15 years, then went into Real Estate for 3.
How does one change his personality to fit an interview, when all I was being was myself? It would have been a pretty good fit, I thought, and after all those interviews, to be given that little snippet of feedback.
I think I know what I have to do the next time. Its the doing it I need the help with.
