Is there anything about the circumstances/reasons for your dismissal as a phlebotomist that could count against you on your current resume?

Assuming you werent dismissed "for cause," your 7 years of service should still say something positive about your performance as a medical professional.

Do you have reference letters or acknowledgment of your performance prior to the dismissal? Raises? Promotions? Awards?

They said it was for poor job performance and too many complaints,

I have 5 commendations during the 7 years and I only missed 5 days during that time, and many of the nurses that I have talked to after the fact say that is BS, I was trained to do ekgs and so were alot of others, but yet they always would call me to do them when I was on shift.

I did not lose my job but I basically got demoted

I worked with this one nurse who complained a lot about our lack of adequate staffing and they did not fire her but they are making her job a nightmare right now

I would see if some of the nurses could write you a reference letter like gordon mentioned

I have asked many of the nurses if they would be willing to just that, many of them gave me their numbers to use as a reference.

I have finally gotten a job in a nursing facility but the skills that I have gotten will go to waste because of state laws that say you can't do that you are a CNA

And I have applied for other positions in other place in the country, that will utilize my skills and I have not heard back yet

Need a change of scenery
