First, I think you should make a list of your skills; second, make a list of careers of interest and third list the salary range of your new career.

Going back to school is not impossible. You just do it! They have academic counselors at colleges and universities. They can help you sort out your final career decision with a plan of study, help you apply for financial aid, etc.

I'm in school this semester. I'm working on my Masters in School Counseling. My situation is .....now.... I am interested in nursing. My career is in education. I am a teacher and searching for a career that gives me a break from the classroom. I'm thinking about going into nursing after I complete the counseling degree. Or maybe I should wait? If anyone have any suggestions let me know!

One of the great things about being an educator is knowing how to educate others. Have you considered looking into finding a job in a "training capacity." For example, companies employ trainers to teach their employees new policies, how to use a new computer program etc. I'm not sure what type of salary level you are currently at, but an entry level position within the training department should be starting around $30K or more depending on location. Combing what you're good at with a new environment can result in less burnout. Bonus to you if you can find employment w/in the nursing field (maybe school like ACT).

I believe that when it comes to career change, individuals are first, scare of stepping out and starting all over, even though that is what we say we want to do. Then there is the 'where to start' issue. I am caught up in that at the moment. I know what I want but am stuck...
