So, when one has concerns about one's self, one goes to a counsellor. When one has concerns about one's marriage, one goes to a marriage counsellor.
But what about one's career? Is there such a thing as a career counsellor? Sure, I imagine there are lots of companies and individuals that parade as career counsellors (I even started looking at one, "Harvard..." something or other, even though there was absolutely nothing Harvard about them); but my experience is that they are charlatans that just take your money.
I'm out interviewing for a new job, in part because the president of my company threatened to fire me when I was sick and I had to fight with the insurance companies for proper coverage. He threatened to fire me the day after Christmas, no less. A guy like that (he killed your brother) doesn't get to benefit from my skills or knowledge any more. But it's not really a story I can tell to prospective employers, now, is it...?
Hence, the need for a LEGITIMATE career counsellor.
Any thoughts???
