In local news we hear about all manner of tragic news. Kids killing their parents, the unbelievable actions of some. Today I want to cover what the bible has to say about these things.
So we turn to 2nd Timothy chapter 3. Timothy was a pupil of none other then the apostle Paul. I mean if you want to learn from a great man, who else could you learn from except the great apostle to the gentiles himself. Paul warns Timothy about how at the last days, men will become even worse then they were at his (timothy's) time.
2nd Timothy 3:1-7,"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Paul warns us in our times how bad people will be. Proud, blasphemers, UNTHANKFUL, UNHOLY!!
If there is one thing ive taught my girls to be, its thankful, and give God the glory he is Due. There are so many traits here, I wish i would cover them all.But i'll tell you what God has shown me and this will be PART 1.Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good.1). Without natural affection.
Now of course this talks about homosexuals, but there are others who fit this also. Kids who are killing their parents, Kids aborting babies, people who are supposed to be caring for elderly and are abusing them and letting them die from neglect. We see all manner of these things going on today. Without natural affection can cover all of the above mentioned things.
2).Trucebreakers.
I reckon we could put LIARS in this one as well. Do you ever notice how when Israel makes a truce with terrorist, the terrorist break it, and the world blames Israel. If you make a pact or promise, do you dead level best to keep up your end of the deal.
3). False accusers.
So here we have another form of lying. But these are in my opinion are the worst. Some one who accuses someone of an offense that they are innocent of; or someone who does the offense and someone lies to get them out of it. I have a saying about people like this...Joe will lie and Jack will swear to it. If your accusing somebody something, you better know what your talking about, and if you dont...keep your yap shut. (enough said).
4). Incontinent. (without self-control)
People who do what feels good without thinking about
who they are hurting. They will fly off as my father would say 'half cocked'. Or off at the handle. Now, to be totally honest and completely above board..I have a temper. If you get on the bedside of me, i will go off on you. My wife has helped me with this by making a face at me when i do this and then i know what ive done. The Bible says in Proverbs 25:28 "He that [hath] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls". A city without walls can be taken by any foe that comes along. So pray for me too.
5.) Despisers of those who do good.
This is what all of us are going 2 face. People will see you helping the handicapped, or doing good for a total stranger. When a sinner sees this, they will look at you with scorn and call you names like (my personal favorite that they call me and mine) ' goody-two-shoes'. or worse. When they start with the name calling, Just look at them and say "thank you". You will be rewarded by God for doing good, and for taking the scorn of the world without retaliation.
