I would think you would not want blatant posts that do nothing other than promote the poster's business. It is one thing to share information or to let someone know about your website on your home page or when asked, but I personally really don't want to see "commercials" on our social-networking site other than the ones in the side bar that allow us to continue our existence.

I like TBD the way it is. Any commercial posting can be done via a e-mail to the person in question.

Hey i like your site here, but if your going to take posted business of then me and a lot of people are out of here, most people i deal with are members of many sites, always someone trying to control the masses.

Robin, I am one of the ones who report them when I see them so you know what I think. This is not a place to ply their cockamamie business. It is a place to share the concepts necessary to enter a business and maintain a business. As a long-time entrepreneur, I know most of the pitfalls and am happy to share whatever I know - especially the dangers of rushing in head-first.

Though I am a practicing psychotherapist in private practice, I wouldn't accept a client from TBD. It is not an honorable way to get clients! I give away my knowledge here to people who ask for it. I do not become their therapist. I offer general information they can act upon in their own life. Most of the information helps them understand when they might need a professional to help them. Nor would I rent one of my apartments through here. Same rationale. I use Craig's List for that (plug, plug).

Here, I am a member sharing thoughts, feelings and information, not plugging one of my business interests. Further, any business I have seen plugged here has about as much viability as a spiked cactus-based roll of toilet paper.

I am not for allowing people who don't give a darn about the people here to use this as a base for advertising mostly spurious businesses like pyramid schemes, products that purport to cure cancer and get you a better love life. Honest businesses do not need to promote themselves on social sites and that is what this is.

If you want to provide space for products that can both cure breast cancer and make the owner a billionaire the first week, make either a special group for that or get a new site altogether. You can call it ASAU (all schlock artists unite).

Just my two cents and you don't have to go to an outside web site to get it!

Personally I think you should allow people to post their businesses so others can see what is going on and maybe get some help from it. I mean if you do nothing but talk and never get anything worth while done what is that? Anyway I hope you make a wise decision whatever you do. We are to be doers

Social networking sites are fastly becoming the in thing for about everything. I know of one site in particular that is inviting all of the social networks into their program. It is going to change things fast and it is right around the corner.
